Does everyone with foot pain need orthoses?
No. Orthoses are recommended only when they are likely to help as part of a wider treatment plan. We assess whether they are clinically appropriate before recommending them.
What is the difference between in-house and laboratory orthoses?
In-house orthoses are made or adjusted in clinic for suitable cases. Laboratory-manufactured orthoses are more bespoke devices made from casting or impression taking, used where a higher level of customisation is clinically needed. We will explain which is most appropriate for your situation.
Do I need a GP referral to book this service?
No. You can self-refer directly. A GP referral is not required for any of our services.
How much do orthoses cost?
Current fees are £50 – £95 for in-house orthoses, £80 for a casting appointment, and From £230 for laboratory-manufactured orthoses depending on specification. We will explain the most appropriate option for your needs during your assessment.
