Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP referral to book a ultrasound appointment?

No. You can book directly with us for ultrasound treatment at any of our clinics. A GP referral is not required.

What problems can an ultrasound scan diagnose?

Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, Morton’s neuroma, tibialis posterior or peroneal tendon issues, joint effusions, bursitis and soft-tissue lesions in the foot and ankle.

What happens during an ultrasound appointment?

A short history and symptom check, the ultrasound scan itself with findings explained on the spot, and — if clinically appropriate — a guided injection delivered at the same visit. You leave with a clear plan for the next step.

Is ultrasound treatment painful?

A scan is non-invasive and painless. A guided injection involves a small needle and may briefly sting, but the local anaesthetic settles quickly. We work carefully and explain each step.

How much does ultrasound cost?

An ultrasound scan is £150. If a guided steroid injection is clinically appropriate and carried out at the same appointment, the total is £260. All appointment fees include the consultation and any in-clinic treatment carried out during that session.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can self-refer for an ultrasound scan or guided injection. If you have been advised to seek imaging or a guided injection, just contact us directly.
