Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a GP referral to book a chiropody appointment?

No. You can book directly with us for chiropody treatment at any of our clinics. A GP referral is not required.

What problems can chiropody help with?

Chiropody can help with corns, calluses, hard skin, thickened nails, cracked heels, verrucae, general foot discomfort and regular foot maintenance.

What happens during a chiropody appointment?

Your appointment usually includes a brief medical history, an assessment of your feet, nails and skin, the treatment itself, and clear aftercare advice. We will explain what we are doing and make sure you leave knowing how to look after your feet between visits.

Is chiropody treatment painful?

Most routine chiropody treatment is carried out as gently and comfortably as possible. If an area is especially tender, we will talk you through it and work carefully. Many patients come in because their feet are already painful — our aim is to relieve that discomfort, not add to it.

How much does chiropody cost?

Current chiropody fees are £55 for a new patient appointment, £55 for a follow-up appointment up to 30 minutes, and £42 for a follow-up appointment up to 20 minutes. All appointment fees include the consultation and any in-clinic treatment carried out during that session.

Is chiropody suitable for people with diabetes?

Yes. We offer safe, professional foot care for patients with diabetes. If you have diabetes, professional foot care can be especially important, and we can advise on the safest way to manage nail and skin problems between appointments.
